Washing pillows don’t need to be as frequent as washing the covers. However, it is really needed. At least twice a year you have to wash your pillows. So, just because you have frequently washed the covers, then you let the pillows unwashed. Regularly, you need to wash the pillows to give you the same comfort when you are sleeping. So, how is the best way to wash pillows?

Washing pillows is actually a simple job since you will know how to wash it from the tag. The care label will tell you whether or not your pillow is machine washable. Most of pillows are machine washable, but you still need to check it. If its machine washable, you can wash it using your washing machine with liquid detergent, not powder detergent. This will help you to avoid residue. You can wash two pillows in your washing machine rather than only load it with a pillow. Rinse the pillows twice to make sure that they are completely cleaned.

After washing, you need to dry the pillows. Drying pillows is different depend on the material of the pillows. If your pillows are down or feather, you can use air cycle. When drying, make sure that the pillows are completely dried since damp pillows will attract mold to come. If your pillows are synthetic, you can dry them in a low heat. You can add a couple of tennis balls that wrapped in white sock to the dryer during the drying process to refluff the pillows.

Washing pillows is not a complicated job. So, why don’t you try to regularly wash your pillows every six months? You will find the more comfortable if you wash the regularly. The way washing your pillows is just like you are washing your clothes, only you need pay more attention to a little difference.
