Everyone (please note, everyone) will meet a plumbing problem at least once in his/ her life, for example when you must replace your bathtub faucet. When this thing happens and we already are responsible to our own house, willingly we have to get it fixed by ourselves (and cannot count to another person, for example our parents) anymore. So, instead of calling a plumber and cost your wallet even deeper, it will be better to get the problem finished by ourselves. The bathtub faucet replacement is classified into DIY project which can be done by most of homeowners. So, here below are the things which hopefully can help you when you are having this kind of problem. Keep reading for the detailed information.
First you will need to get the silicone which keeps the broken faucet removed using a grout puller. After you dealt with the grout, get any screw undone as well as bolts which gets the faucet held on its place. And then get the faucet unscrewed by twisting it counter clockwise. It may be different depending on your faucet’s type. Then after that, get the current washer which is on the faucet-frame-assembly. You can get it done using a screwdriver with flat head, and then after that get it pried.
Then get all the washers replaced with the new one included with the new faucet as well of course. Oh, be sure you buy the one which exactly match your old faucet. After you put the new faucet on, then get it sealed just like before and make sure you have put everything back on (screws and all). If you are doing this for the first time, you can ask someone who has similar experience to help you doing the project (it can be friends or relatives). Good luck!
