A screen door could be a perfect addition for your house if you calculate everything well between the decoration of your house and the screen door. We can actually create the screen door by ourselves since all we need is time and patience and of course carpentry skills. So, the question now is: how to build a screen door? Well, let’s roll to find how.
There are at least 8 steps which should be taken for getting this screen door created. By doing this project through DIY ways we will also be able to save more money since we will cut the cost for hiring labor/ pros. So let’s just cut the crap and get into the main business.
Building the frame
This is the basic thing that needs to be done first since the frame will be like the foundation of the screen door. Get the stiles created by cutting the materials to the size of 6 inches for creating the vertical and horizontal top rail of the frame. While for the bottom we will need to get it cut down for 8 inches.
Getting the stiles and rails attached
This is the next step which should be done. Get the table saw fit with a tongue and then get it grooved bit. Get the tongue cut in the stiles and then get it grooved into the rails.
Creating the space for the screen
This is aimed for attaching the screen (the space). Get a rabbett cut about 5/8 inches on the inside of each piece for creating the space for attaching the screen.
Getting the frame fastened.
This is the next thing which should be done and you can use dowels for this by clapping it tightly and then let it dry.
Now get it painted
An after you painted the frame now you can assembly it together and your project is now considered done. Good luck for your project.
